    Gendlin and Kant

    Did you know that:

    Gendlin’s statement in ECM:

“Experiencing without symbolization (concepts) is blind; symbolization without experiencing is empty”

is actually a reference to Immanuel Kant:

“Thoughts without content are empty, intuitions without concepts are blind.”

The cat is because Gendlin (apparently) loved cats and used them as examples quite often in his philosophy. 😺
