Did you know that:
Gendlin’s statement in ECM:
“Experiencing without symbolization (concepts) is blind; symbolization without experiencing is empty”
is actually a reference to Immanuel Kant:
“Thoughts without content are empty, intuitions without concepts are blind.”
The cat is because Gendlin (apparently) loved cats and used them as examples quite often in his philosophy. 😺
